Berlin Visa and Citizenship Target Processing Times
The following is a guide to our target processing times for visa and citizenship applications lodged in Berlin. We endeavour to process ALL applications as quickly as possible, however actual processing times may vary depending on a range of factors, individual circumstances and the complexity of each case.
The times listed below are indicative only and apply to valid applications lodged with complete documentation. Your application is likely to take longer if it is presented without all the necessary documentation.
Processing time starts when we have received your application form and are able to deduct the correct visa application charge. Without this payment, we are unable to register your visa application in our electronic system and processing cannot commence.
The processing times do not include the time taken for your application to arrive at this office. Within Europe, please allow approximately 7 days delivery time one way for sending your application to the Visa Office, Berlin and again for the return of your passport by registered mail once it is sent from this office. The Visa Office, Berlin is unable to make estimates of delivery times from your country of residence and cannot be made liable for delays caused by postal services.
You must not make arrangements to travel to Australia until after your visa has been approved. The Visa Office, Berlin is not liable for any financial loss incurred by applicants whose applications are late or unsuccessful.
Once we have received your application, processing may be delayed for any of the following reasons.

Processing priority Under Australia's family reunion migration program, a high priority is given to child and partner visa applications. Other family applications have a lower processing priority, and you should expect a substantial wait before your application is finalised. |
We will send you an acknowledgement letter to confirm receipt of your migration application and provide you with a file number.
Once your case officer has made an initial assessment of your application, they will advise you if the processing time for your application is likely to differ significantly from the above average processing times.
