Berlin Visa and Citizenship Target Processing Times
The following is a guideline to our target processing times in Berlin.
While we endeavour to decide ALL our applications as quickly as possible, the times below will give an indication as to how long your application may take.
Please note that the times below relate to completed applications.
If your application is presented without all the necessary documentation, then it may take longer to process.
It is in your own interest to ensure that your application is as complete as possible when you lodge it.
Migration
In Berlin we process migration applications from 24 countries.
Average processing times vary for different types of applications.
It is not possible to advise in advance of receiving each application exactly how long it will take to process.
You can help us by ensuring that your application is fully completed and accompanied by all required documents.
Each application is considered individually and in some cases there will be issues, such as the need for additional medical or character checking, which lead to longer processing times. At present, however, Berlin has the following average processing times:
|
Visa Class (subclass) |
Target Processing Time |
|
Spouse (309, 100); Interdependent |
One to six months |
|
Dependent Child (101); Adopted Child (102); |
Three to ten months |
|
Other Family (114, 115, 116) |
Eight to twelve months |
We will send you an acknowledgement letter to confirm receipt of your migration application and provide you with a file number.
Once your case officer has made an initial assessment of your application, they will advise you if the processing time for your application is likely to differ significantly from the above average processing times.
