Mr Peter Tesch
Ambassador to Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein
Mr Tesch most recently was Commissioner-General for Australia and Executive Director, Shanghai World Expo 2010, a position he held since January 2008. He had a similar position in 2000 for the Hannover World Expo.
He has held several Senior Executive Service positions in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and worked in the Office of the Minister for Trade, Parliament House (1993 - 94).
Mr Tesch has also served overseas as Deputy Permanent Representative, Australian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, New York (2002 - 05); Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan (1997 - 99) and Third Secretary, Australian Embassy Moscow (1989 - 91).
Mr Tesch holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours from the University of Queensland. Mr Tesch speaks German and Russian.
